  • Whole Milk: 2 cups
  • Sugar: ½ cup
  • Eggs: 3
  • Walnut: 1 ½ cup (chopped and toasted)
  • Cinnamon: 2 tsp
  • Flour: 2 ½ cups
  • Baking Powder: 2 ½ tsp
  • Coconut oil, butter, or ghee
  • Kosher Salt: 1 ½ tsp

The Method

You need to pack the flour, cinnamon, salt, sugar, and baking powder in an air-tight container at home. The following process is to be done at the campsite.

First of all, place 5 bananas in a bowl and mash it with a fork until smooth. Now, add the egg first and mix it with the bananas. Once it is smooth, add the milk. You need to beat all the 3 ingredients together until it is a smooth paste.

Secondly, put all the dry items in the mixture and blend it well with the wet items. However, do not overmix it; if there are few small lumps, then it is alright. Also, if the batter is too thick, you can add ½ cup of milk to it.

Thirdly, heat a pan or skillet, low-medium flame, and add coconut oil, butter, or ghee. Add more of it if you are using a cast iron pan. Cover the whole pan with it. Now pour some of the batter on the center of the pan, and on top of the batter, add some chopped walnuts.

Cook it for 3 – 4 minutes until the top portion begins to bubble. Once it starts bubbling, flip the pancake and cook the other side for 3 – 4 minutes.

Do it until the pancake is light brown.

Fourthly, do this with the rest of the mixture and add more butter, ghee, or oil to the skillet if needed.

Lastly, serve them with maple or chocolate syrup on top. You can even add toasted walnuts or sliced bananas.

#2 Grilled Breakfast Sandwich

A grilled sandwich with fried eggs, spicy mayo, and sweet rolls made it on our camping food list. It is a fantastic recipe and very beginner-friendly.

Ingredient List

  • Sweet Rolls (Hawaiian): 2 large (you can use sandwich buns as well)
  • Halloumi cheese: 60 grams (sliced)
  • Egg: 2
  • Spicy Mayo: 5 tbsp
  • Olive oil or butter: 2 tbsp
  • Scallion: 1 (julienned or sliced)
  • Sriracha: 1 ½ tbsp (this depends on how much spice you like on your food)
  • Black Pepper: 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

The Method

For this recipe, you need to carry a camp stove.

First of all, on a non-stick pan, add some oil and the buns, or you can also grill the sandwich buns. Set them aside.

Secondly, in a different pan, over medium-high flame, add olive oil or butter. When the butter is melted, then add the halloumi cheese. Add the buns and fry each side for 4 – 5 minutes.

If you are using a grill, then add the cheese on the grill and then the buns.

Thirdly, heat the remaining oil or butter over low-medium heat. When it is melting, add the eggs to the pan.

This is an optional step: When the white part of the egg begins to set, use a fork to mix the yolk a little bit. If you mix the yolk with the white part, there will be yolk in it with every bite of the sandwich.

Cook it for 5 minutes or until the eggs are done.

Fourthly, when the egg is cooking in a small bowl, prep the mayo. It would help if you mixed the sriracha and the spicy mayo.

Lastly, speed the mayo mixture on one side of the buns. Then layer the egg, extra cheese, scallions, black pepper, and salt.

#3 Sweet Potato and Soyrizo

Sweet potato with Soyrizo or crumbled chorizo and scallions is a full-filling dish that you can try on your camping trip.

  • Sweet Potato: 2 medium sizes (peeled)
  • Soyrizo or crumbly chorizo: 60 grams
  • Cinnamon: ¼ tsp
  • Green Onions: 4
  • Eggs: 3
  • Maple Syrup: 2 tsp
  • Olive Oil: 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

The Method

First of all, cut the potatoes into ½ inch dice. Also, chop the green onions into small parts.

Secondly, in a pot, heat some olive oil on a medium-high flame. When the oil is simmering, put in the sweet potatoes, cook it for 6 – 7 minutes, and sometimes stir until they have become softer.

Thirdly, once the potatoes are soft, add green onions. Cook for another 5 minutes.

Fourthly, after about 10 minutes of cooking, the sweet potatoes will become tender. Now add the crumbled chorizo or Soyriz, and cook for a minute.

Fifthly, add salt, cinnamon, and maple syrup. Stir it well so that all of them mix well.

Lastly, in a different pan, cook the eggs. You can make an omelet or scrambled egg. Once it is done, serve it with the sweet potatoes.

It is a foil packet meal that is easy to prepare and quick to make. Shrimp boil is one of the classic camp food.

Ingredient List

  • Shrimp: 1 lb (uncooked)
  • Garlic Cloves: 6 (minced)
  • Corn: small 12 pieces
  • Sausage: 2 (cut into small pieces)
  • Butter: 6 tbsp
  • Zucchini: 2 medium sizes (sliced thick)
  • Cajun: 2 tsp
  • Paprika: 2 tsp

The Method

First of all, cut the foils into small pieces about 16 inches. Use parchment paper and place it on top of the foils.

Secondly, add butter, zucchini, corn, shrimp, garlic, and spices to a boil and mix it well.

Thirdly, add this mixture to the foil and grill it. It will take about 10 minutes to cook it.

Lastly, please remove it from the grill and let it rest for few minutes. Open it carefully as there will be hot steam. Add butter and parsley on top of it.

The Method

  • Bean Mix: 500 grams
  • Garlic Cloves: 3 (finely chopped)

  • Toast: 2 pieces
  • Paprika: 2 tsp smoked
  • Coriander: ½ cup (finely chopped)
  • Tomatoes: 400 grams (diced)

The Method

First of all, in a pot, low-medium flame, add olive oil and garlic. Fry it until fragrant. It will take a minute.

Secondly, add cumin and paprika and stir it for 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes, chickpeas, and beans. Mix them well and cook them for 10 – 12 minutes.

Thirdly, using the ladle, make a hole in the middle of the mixture and add the eggs. You can crack it in a different bowl, mix it, add it to the pan, or directly add the eggs.

Fourthly, cover it with a lid until the eggs are cooked. It will take about 6 – 7 minutes.

Lastly, turn off the heat and add lime juice, coriander, chili, black pepper, and salt.
