A three-time champion, the ski resort Alpe d’Huez, located in Grenoble, France, has been voted European Best Ski Resort 2020 by European Best Destinations, the European Commission’s site dedicated to promote travel on the continent.
The best ski resorts competition is decided by travelers and the 15 most popular will be promoted throughout the year to more than six millions travelers, media and tourism professionals.
Based on the votes of some 120.000 travelers, the winners will be allowed to display the title “Best European Ski Resorts.”
Europe is the leading ski-holiday destination in the world and the 15 winners are the best in their respective countries.
The list includes, among others, the best ski resorts in Italy, France, Austria and Switzerland. The other 14 finalists are Avoriaz (Morzine, France), Zermatt (Switzerland), Val Thorens (France), Cortina d’Ampezzo (Italy), Crans-Montana (Switzerland), Kitzbühel (Austria), La Plagne (France), Livigno (Italy), Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn (Austria), SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental (Austria), Val d’Isere (France), St. Moritz (Switzerland), Samnaun-Ischgl (Switzerland), Jungfrau (Switzerland) and Davos-Klosters (Switzerland).
With 300 tourism offices in Europe, EBD is, for the seventh year in a row, the most visited website for traveling in Europe.

At 2,300 meters, Val Thorens in France is the highest resort in Europe and the highest point of the largest ski area in the world, the Trois Vallées (600 kilometres of interconnected runs).
It’s the only site to be awarded Best Ski Resort in Europe four times, and is also regularly named as the best mountain resort in the world.
Livigno Ski Resort in Alta Valtellina, Italy’s Lombardy region, has 115 kilometers of alpine ski slopes (at 1,800 to 2,900 meters) for a total of 12 black slopes, 37 red and 27 blue, served by six cable ways, 14 chairlifts and 11 ski lifts.

In Livigno, the snow season starts early in the year and ends late. You can ski and practice all winter sports from autumn till May.
Crans-Montana ski resort is among the top five of the best ski resorts in Europe and appears in the first place of the best ski resorts in Switzerland.
